A New Flavor Just Joined the Cheez

Grooves, Snap’d, and Gripz. What do these words have in common? While they would certainly make for absurd DJ names, they are actually all part of the Cheez-It snack lineup. I must admit, I was unaware of the brand’s strategy; I had no idea they were constructing an entire extended universe of Cheez-It products. To be honest, it is all a bit overwhelming.

Last year, Cheez-It Crunch joined the mix. These puffy, window-paned squares debuted at 7-Eleven locations in two varieties—Zesty Jalapeno Cheddar and Kick’n Nacho Cheese—and are now arriving in full-size bags at grocery stores alongside a new addition: Cheez-It Crunch Sharp White Cheddar. We <a href="https://shoppixy.com/your-2026-mobilehelp-review/” title=”Your 2026 MobileHelp Review”>reviewed the initial two flavors back in September and were not particularly impressed. However, perhaps the third time is the charm for these unusual, crunchy snacks. Here is my honest assessment.

Cheez-It Crunch Sharp White Cheddar

Pros: I am a white cheddar apologist. I generally prefer white cheddar snacks over standard cheddar versions, even if white cheddar is essentially a marketing gimmick that shouldn’t technically exist. Regardless, snack companies usually make white cheddar taste tangier and sharper than “regular cheddar,” and that is exactly what you get here. The flavor is quite pleasant and strongly recalls the original White Cheddar Cheez-Its.

Cons: “I’m not sure why I’m eating a window,” said our editor-in-chief, Justine Sterling. I believe that captures the experience perfectly. I am not enjoying the shape or texture of Cheez-It Crunch. These puffy squares resemble Chex Mix pretzels that have been exposed to radiation. The shapes are entirely irregular and too large for comfortable snacking. They lack the smooth, satisfying crunch found in a quality Cheetos Puff. Honestly, they taste like strange croutons. I simply cannot get behind them, I’m sorry.

Verdict: It is fortunate that flavor is king here at Sporked, because we remain unconvinced by the crunchy “puff” concept.
