A few months back we covered the announcement that Peanut Butter Cinnamon Toast Crunch would arrive in stores early next year. At that point we lacked detailed information, and we wondered whether it would differ from Peanut Butter Toast Crunch, a cinnamon‑free CTC cereal that disappeared from shelves in 2014. The answer is a clear yes—the new variety actually contains cinnamon. (I still find it hard to accept that we once had a CTC flavor without any Cinnadust. That sounds like fake news.)
Now that the product is available, I finally tasted this new Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I ate it straight from the bag and, of course, served it in a bowl with milk—chilled with ice, as only I would. Brace yourself for a debate in the comments.

Pros: Honestly, I prefer this over the standard Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Don’t get too excited—I’m not a huge fan of CTC overall. It’s a perfectly acceptable, if somewhat overhyped, cereal. The combination of cinnamon and peanut butter works well together, adding a subtle depth of flavor that I enjoy. I’m about to criticize the underwhelming peanut‑butter taste, yet I also (paradoxically) give CTC credit for its restraint. Had they gone too bold on the PB, it wouldn’t be as pleasant.
Cons: The peanut butter comes across as inconsistent and too faint. More importantly, the recipe could shed a gram or two of sugar—it’s a bit too sweet. I tend to say that about many things (my sweet tooth is tragically underdeveloped), but I stand by this point. A slightly reduced amount of Cinnadust would let the peanut butter shine more at the finish. Sorry, not sorry!
Verdict: It’s pretty close to the perfect product.
