Pepperidge Farm has introduced plenty of exciting Goldfish varieties over the last few years—the Old Bay version was a personal favorite—but there have been some noticeable gaps in their lineup. With all due respect to the brand and the iconic mascot who once promoted their baked goods, why did it take until 2026 for Ranch Goldfish to finally arrive? The good news is that starting in January 2026, Ranch Goldfish will hit store shelves alongside two varieties of Goldfish Pretzels, marking the first time the brand has released flavored pretzels. As professional food tasters, we were granted an early look at all three new products, and they certainly deliver.

New Goldfish Flavor!
Pros: I generally enjoy Goldfish Pretzels more than I anticipate, but these new versions are arguably even better. They appear slightly larger and more puffed, which provides an improved crunch. If you enjoy “flavor-blasted” snacks, you will appreciate this new line of pretzels; these pieces are generously coated in seasoning.
Cons: Among the three new releases, this was my least favorite. The seasoning blend lacks complexity; while the heat is pleasant, the vinegar-forward tang tends to overpower the other elements of the flavor profile.

Honey Mustard Goldfish Pretzels
Pros: I was previously a fan of Snyder’s Honey Mustard & Onion pretzel pieces, but their quality seems to have declined. When I revisited them for our updated pretzel rankings earlier this year, they didn’t make the cut. While these Honey Mustard Goldfish Pretzels aren’t reinventing the category, they are a welcome addition to the snack aisle because they are genuinely tasty. They offer a robust flavor, featuring a Dijon-style heat balanced by a touch of honey sweetness. The heavy coating of seasoning ensures you get a bold, immediate flavor impact.
Cons: Honey mustard is typically the most accessible mustard flavor for those sensitive to the sharp pungency of mustard seed. By those standards, this is a fairly intense mustard profile, which might be a drawback for some consumers.
New Goldfish Flavor!
Pros: It feels like Ranch Goldfish should have been a staple all along. This new variety is so impressive that I like to imagine someone has been working in a lab for three decades to perfect the seasoning. It is truly excellent. As promised, it is quite zesty, featuring a balanced blend of herbs, garlic, and the subtle sweetness and tang characteristic of buttermilk ranch dressing.
Cons: When Goldfish introduces new flavors, they use their standard crackers, which are arguably not the <a href="https://shoppixy.com/best-creatine-for-women-uk-2026-our-top-picks-2/” title=”Best Creatine for Women UK 2026: Our Top Picks”>best base. These would be even better with a hint of baked-in cheese flavor, although I will say that my colleague Justine Sterling thought she detected a cheesy flavor baked into the cracker itself.
