PTC Launches PTC Jetstream to Make Enterprise Collaboration a Connected Part of the Product Development Lifecycle
PTC has introduced PTC Jetstream™, a cloud-based, AI-native product collaboration solution designed to unify teams, product data, and decision-making. This platform enables manufacturing companies to accelerate development cycles, identify issues earlier, and bring high-quality <a href="https://shoppixy.com/native-nourishers-products-we-love-from-the-best-up-and/” title=”Native Nourishers: Products We Love From The Best Up-And”>products to market more efficiently.
As product designs grow increasingly complex, organizations must integrate expertise from across the enterprise without hindering innovation. However, the discussions and reviews that drive product development are often trapped in disconnected tools and fragmented processes. This lack of cohesion makes it difficult to reconcile feedback, maintain an accurate record of agreements, and translate those decisions into execution. PTC Jetstream resolves this issue by offering a centralized environment for both real-time and asynchronous collaboration. By linking conversations, feedback, and final decisions directly to product data managed within PTC’s Windchill® PLM solution, PTC Jetstream facilitates effective teamwork while maintaining strict governance and traceability.
“At GE Appliances, we design and build the appliances that households rely on every day. Bringing those products to market requires close coordination across engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams around the world,” said Dave Leone, Senior Director, Digital Engineering, GE Appliances. “We were impressed by how quickly stakeholders could participate in reviews and get the information they needed with PTC Jetstream, helping our teams focus more on solving engineering challenges and less on managing process.”
PTC Jetstream offers the following capabilities:
Secure Collaboration Rooms: Establish access-controlled workspaces that allow designated employees, suppliers, and partners to engage in product reviews.
Browser-Based Product Review: Access and view 2D and 3D product data directly in a web browser, eliminating the need for every participant to use CAD or PLM software.
Contextual Feedback: Attach comments and markups to specific content, including data versions, timestamps, and reviewer identities. This ensures feedback is easy to interpret and act upon by providing full context.
AI Room Summaries: Automatically generate overviews of key discussions, outcomes, action items, and assigned owners, providing teams with an immediate status update on any review.
Windchill Connectivity: Initiate collaboration sessions from Windchill, share product data into the Collaboration Rooms, and sync records of issues and decisions back to Windchill. This ensures that teams working within the PLM environment remain informed about what was agreed upon and why.
“Product development is a team effort, but the tools used to support it have not kept pace with how widely distributed that team has become,” said Jon Stevenson, Chief Product Officer, PTC. “PTC Jetstream gives every contributor a more direct way to shape the product and can carry the context of those decisions back into Windchill, turning collaboration into a connected part of product development so companies can move from collective expertise to great products faster.”
Through PTC Jetstream, Windchill, and its broader software portfolio, PTC is executing its vision for the Intelligent Product Lifecycle. This strategy helps manufacturers establish a modern foundation for product data, extend that information across the enterprise, and leverage AI to drive digital transformation. By utilizing product data more effectively, companies can improve product quality, manage large-scale complexity, and support emerging digital business models.
